14 Days Summer Tour

Day 1 – 2 Arrival - Tbilisi CAPITAL OF GEORGIA - Home for people with diverse cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds

Sightseeing:

  • Sameba Church - Symbol of hope for Tbilisi citizen, with the most beautiful Views in old part of Tbilisi ;
  • Metekhi (XII c.) Royal residential complex
  • Fortress Narikhala (IV-X cc.) –the main citadel of the city;
  • The Asian- type colored hot sulfur springs bath houses (XVIII c.) ;
  • Welcome Dinner in a traditional Georgian restaurant with traditional folk music, dance and delicious Georgian cuisine.

Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day -3 Tbilisi- Akhaltsikhe

Breakfast at the Hotel;

Sightseeing:

  • Town Mtsketa - ancient capital of Georgia. Located on the top of the hill that provides an amazing view of the conjunction of two rivers

Visiting historical sites:

Svetitskhoveli and Jvari Cathedral (6-11th century) the biggest Christian temple in Georgia . A sacred place where the robe of Christ is kept– both Monasteries are UNESCO World Heritage sites;

  • Arrive to a rafting camp near Chitakhevi HPP – The route is 17 km long and according to the river level 1 hour and 10-20 minutes are needed for rafting.

Overnight in Akhaltsikhe

Day -4 Akhaltsikhe - Vardzia - Akhaltsikhe

Sightseeing:

  • Vardzia (Georgian Petra) rock- cut town complex founded 12 the cc. Golden Age - during the reign of Queen Tamar. There is – well fortified monastery with 600apartments, 28 wine-houses, 15 churches, library, store room of medicines, important political, cultural, educational and spiritual center of the country.
  • Town Rabat - castle (IX c.) The former largest slave bazaar till XVIII c. – The site of ethical and religious diversity, historical symbol of Georgian tolerance, where you can see Georgian, Armenian and Moslem buildings of public worship standing next to each other.

Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.

Day -5– Akhaltsikhe- Tskaltubo

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Sightseeing:

  • Town Borjomi- mineral water park .A synonym for healthy, pure mineral water -,. “Borjomi”
  • Sataplia Cave as well as Prometheus cave The state Nature unique Reserve has skillfully hidden in the mountains and contains geological, paleontological, Speleological and botanical monuments, is the most popular attractions in Imereti region.The small underground river and lake, stalactites and stalagmites and the Dinosaur Plateau with real traces of ancient reptiles printed in huge stones
  • Tskaltubo little town - a spa resort.Famous for its radon-carbonate mineral springs. In resort used to took the rehabilitation The Soviet Union Political Leaders and chefs KGB(CKB )

Day -6 Tskaltubo -Kutaisi - Okatse canyon

Sightseeing:

  • Kutaisi One of the most beautiful and ancient cities in West Georgia - Imereti region. Kutaisi has contributed much to the process of Georgian unification. According to the legend Kutaisi was the final destination of the Argonauts.
  • Church of Bagrati - Architectural monument of Kutaisi. (11th c), build during the reign of King Bagrat III due to which it was called "Bagrati" Cathedral, i. is a masterpiece in the history of medieval Georgian .
  • The gourde Okaces canyon is 3 to 6 meters wide and 20 to 100 meters deep. Along the canyon several waterfalls could be found, the height of one it is 70 m.

Day -7 Tskaltubo- Martvili- Mestia

Sightseeing:

  • Martvili Canyon- is one of the greatest places in west Georgia – combining unique natural environment with historical monuments. It is a place with lots of waterfalls and sky blue water! Will take you to unforgettable journey between high rocks in Canyon.
  • Svaneti lies high up in the Greater Caucasus Mountain on southern slopes. Deep river gorges, narrow paths, the incredible beauty of giant mountains, stone houses, richly frescoed churches and local charm of lovely communities, where traditions have been preserved for a thousand years, makes this area unforgettable.
  • Mestia –tiny capital of Svanety with hauses attached to a medieval watchtower – fortress. A number of buildings are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Day -8- 9 Mestia- Ushguli – Mestia

Sightseeing:

  • Historical and ethnological museum in Mestia. Manuscripts from the 10th and 12th centuries, religious tracts from the 9th-11th centuries, icons, metal and other artifacts of the 14th -16th centuries, gold coins of the antique and late antique periods, and several Bronze Age treasures.
  • Ushguli - one of the highest and the most spectacular villages in Georgia, located in Upper Svaneti, preserved as a museum-reserve, with more than 200 survived towers. It is an architecturally unique Middle Age fortification, surrounded by the 5,000m giants of the Caucasus mountain range. UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
  • St Kvirike monastry (11 th c). Kvirikoba is the most important festival in Svaneti. Kvirika, an ancient Georgian pagan deity, was the protector of the fertility of soil, man and animals. Despite the prohibition by the Synod, sacrificial rituals are still practiced in the Christian churches of Svaneti.

Day 10- Mestia - Batumi (Black Sea side Region)

Batumi - one of the oldest sea-side cities in Georgia, inhabited from as early as the third century BC. Having all the resources necessary for the resort cities, at present days Batumi became the distinguished tourist center at the Black Sea cost. Batumi is always green and sparkling.

Sightseeing:

· "Old Batumi" Small, white, mostly 2-3-storied 150 years old, buildings are decorated with mythical creatures with a lot of open cafes with aromatic hot black coffee prepared on the heated sand.

· Batumi Seaside Boulevard- walking tour

· PIAZZA Batumi is one of the most beautiful squares in whole Georgia is distinguished by its painting, as well as by its exquisite mosaics and stained glass windows. Piazza Square has already become the venue of numerous entertaining and cultural events.

  • Walking tour - night Batumi, Lazer show The main attraction of Batumi is a splendid French fountain acknowledged as one of the bests in Europe. Bright, colorful lights, wonderful music, 3D visual dancing performances and fanciful designs create a delightful fantasy of "Dancing Water".
  • Visit Batumi Delphinium - you can swim and take pictures with Dolphins;

Day-11-12- Batumi (Black Sea side Region)

Sightseeing:

  • Batumi Botanic Garden - the unique place famous for its wide variety of flora, containing more than 5 thousand kinds of plants.
  • Visit funicular of Batumi with beautiful view from top of mountain.
  • Visit Gonio fortress - Roman fortification in Adjara, on the Black sea, 15 km south of Batumi, at the mouth of the Chorokhi river. The village sits 4 km north of the Turkish border.
